Privacy policy

Your travel data should stay yours.

Effective date: September 9, 2026

TravelBud does not contain advertising, analytics or third-party tracking SDKs. It does not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

Data stored on your device

TravelBud stores trips, plans, saved places, reservations, packing lists, book settings and locally cached place images on your device. A reservation may contain details you enter, such as a confirmation code or note.

When you create an album, the app reads only the photos you choose from your Photo Library. Photo files and local image caches remain on your device and are not uploaded to a TravelBud server.

Private travel documents and scanned document details are kept in a device-only Keychain vault protected by device authentication. They are not included in iCloud trip sync.

iCloud sync and sharing

When iCloud is available, TravelBud uses Apple CloudKit to synchronise trip content between your devices. This can include an itinerary, saved places and coordinates, reservations, notes, packing lists, book settings and album metadata. The data is associated with your Apple Account only for this purpose, not for tracking or marketing.

You can invite collaborators to a trip. Invitees can see shared trip content. Local ticket attachments, document-vault content, photo files and local image caches are not shared through TravelBud’s CloudKit trip sync.

Permissions and feature data

You can change permissions in iOS Settings. Declining a permission leaves unrelated features available.

Network requests

The app makes direct, feature-specific requests from your device: Apple Maps for map search and travel-book maps; a webpage you choose to share to read preview metadata; selected place websites, Wikipedia, Wikivoyage or Wikimedia Commons to find place imagery; Frankfurter’s ECB-backed service for optional reference exchange rates. This release has no in-app purchase and does not contact StoreKit.

These requests are not used to profile you or to show advertising.

Feedback you choose to send

When a public support address is available, TravelBud can prepare a feedback message in your email app. The message contains only the category and text you enter. It never attaches trip data, booking codes, private documents, location, diagnostics, purchase information or screenshots. You review the message before sending.

Retention and choices

You control trip content in the app. Delete a trip, reservation, album or document to remove its local content; synced trip changes are sent to iCloud when sync is available. Deleting the app removes local app data, subject to iOS and iCloud retention settings.

Changes to this policy

If TravelBud changes its data practices, this policy and its App Store privacy details will be updated before the changed practice is released.
